Ganesh Maha Mantra

Invocation:
Gam Ganapataye Namo Namaha
Shree Siddhi Vinayaka Namo Namaha
Ashta Vinayaka Namo Namaha
Ganapati Bapa Mooriya

Mantra:
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha (108 repetitions)

Meaning of the mantra:
Salutations to Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. He is known as the Lord of special powers, and Ganapati translates into “the leader of the Ganas” of Siva. Lord Siva is universal self and so the Ganas are the thoughts/mind. Therefore Ganesh can help clear the mind.

Ganesha has eight forms. This invocation includes the name of his biggest devotee, Mooriya. Ganesh was impressed with Mooriya’s devotion so his name is kept close to Ganesh’s name. Mooriya’s extreme dedication reminds us to keep the faith, strength, and know we are all protected and loved.

Gam is the bija syllable for invoking the presence of Ganesh in the form of sound. It invokes protection for spiritual seekers. Salutations to Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. As you chant it, allow your mind to stay focused on the 108 repetitions for the best result of Dharana, concentration.
